Final Update: Used the method mentioned by Averie and the refund was issued upon request of a return. Once the process was finalized however I received a new message saying the return wouldn't be necessary.

Then go by the last correspondence - no return required.

Update: Just received the item from Wayfair. I looked at the website to see if reporting it as damaged would work. They give you 3 options overall.

A. Free Replacement - May have to return the original item.
B. Keep Item - 30% Refund
C. Return - %100 Refund

So I'm mauling over whether I should try the replacement and then send it back for a full refund, do a DNA, or just  take the safer but way less attractive option of a 30% refund.
