old method done in a new way for laptop #1
I have a fresh amazon account, bought a lenovo laptop for 1080 euros. The order is international
I'm thinking of using the sealed box method but in a different way, instead of shipping it back,
I'll take pictures of the package, fill it with bricks that are taped so they don't make a sound.
Then, record a video with my friends as if I'm unboxing the laptop and cutting the tape I resealed.
I will act very shocked in video and go outside of camera to apply something that make me look like I'm crying
afterwards I will contact amazon live chat, explain my case, send the images (before I opened the package) and the video (after I sealed the package to perfection)
would this method work? thanks for your time

You would try to convince them that you've bought another SE'ers SE.

Keep in mind, that if they somehow have CCTV in place that this method wont work.
Also, even if it is only for the video, dont overdo it with the stones - keep the same weigh so it also looks legit on the video.

I always thought about testing it once, but never actually did.
After all, back in the day when Amazon wasn't so scrupulous with checking SB returns, they must've had many "planks in laptop boxes" in their warehouses, and some unlucky buyers must've bought and reported them.
You might just be one of those poor fellows.
Everything I post here is fictional. Anything mentioned on my posts that corresponds to events that happened in real life is coincidental.

Yes thank you for that information, extra details would be the carrier is UPS and the shipment is international, but from amazon spain.
as for CCTV, I think you mean the warehouse, how do I know that? I had the stone method in mind because I thought it would check out against weight and CCTV and also make it look like I bought another SE'ers SE

Amazon does not have CCTV in place (as far as I know).
To test new methods or test if CCTV is in place, I would recommend a trial SE, where you SE a low-price item.

Not sure if it would work, since you'd have to buy an Amazon Warehouse item (I don't think returned items are placed with the new ones), and they are thoroughly checked now

Plus, Amazon doesn't usually care about photos or videos, and never asked me to provide any for any sort of claim, so I don't think they're gonna watch your video at all, it's just a matter of whether or not they believe your story in the first place

Well I hope their system isn't perfect for that, as all systems are prone to mistakes.
what method would you recommend in that case, if any can work for my account case and pricing of product + weight?

Can it pass as a manufacture fault or after reaching my country the package got stolen? do keep in mind I'm in a third world country ordering from there, so it might be less quality of amazon.
let me know what you think

Amazon won't fall for It.

They'll check with their accounts/Invoicing department, and establish It's not a returned product by Its order number, hence It'll be Impossible to justify how you received a box with bricks.
