Help with chargeback via bank debit card #1
I know credit card is supposed to be easy but has anyone any experience with a chargeback on a debit card? I've not made any chargebacks on my account obviously so far and had it for quite a few years.

The reason I'm wanting to do this is because a parcel I ordered was sent to my neighbours and it took me a while to retrieve. I attempted a DNA as I was actually confused to where it was the tracking photo just showed a bin and it wasn't in mine when I checked.

Anyway by the time I got it I've realised the clothing is no good for me and the company is only offering a credit note if I return it as 14 days have passed. Would a bank agree to cahrheback under these circumstances? I don't want to be stuck with £450 on clothes that don't fit.

Who's the company?

Credit cards are linked to a line of credit, hence chargebacks are processed quickly.

Debit cards are associated to funds In your bank account, therefore chargebacks are generally slower due to funds having to first move Into the account before the credit can be finalized.

How did the company respond to this?

You can claim a chargeback on the grounds that the return period elapsed, due to the time taken to retrieve the package as a result of the consignment not dispatched to your address - which Is no fault of your own.

Represent.

The company just responding saying the 14 days have passed and only a credit note will be offered or a direct exchange for another size. Of which they don't have any stock of what I ordered. So essentially a credit note only.

I didn't even get a delivered note through the door either so I wanst even aware until a coupel days after the delivery was made when I checked up on it and was shocked the status has said delivered. That's when I checked the courier site and saw the image was inside of a bin.

I've read this company is easy to box but again that's not ideal as even if that succeeded I'd still be left with just a credit note anyway.

What sort of info will the bank ask for ona chargeback? I have all the emails with the company dating from the time I couldn't find my parcel until the denial of a refund. Would that be enough?

Yes, provide the bank with every detail supporting your claim.
