Just to make sure that I understood. According to the tracking page there's no signature required and the delivery man can safe drop if it assume that's ok, I reviewed the carrier's policy in regards of safe dropping a delivery and I guess my delivery should be good to go since there's some place where he can leave it unattended, but it's always at the discretion of the delivery man.

To ensure that my delivery doesn't go to the postal office and kill my DNA. I can simply just take the delivery if he hand me over the parcel and I can DNA it? That won't affect the DNA?

His discretion doesn't necessarily mean the correct decision was made to deem the drop off location as a safe place.

As such, you can use It In your defence when hitting the DNA.

If he purely hands you the package with or without a signature, you can certainly DNA It.

1) On the tracking page, there's an option to indicate where to safe drop the item if no one is there at the time of the delivery (you can see the screenshot here of what it look like https://imgur.com/a/w4rjbFB). But once it is specified, it will show up on the tracking records that I choose to have it safe drop.

Given you've authorized to leave It at a safe place/location, It'll make you responsible for loss of goods.

As a last resort, I can always chargeback but I prefer to not do it as it's a lengthy process with my bank and there's still the proof that I choose to have it safe drop on the tracking if the merchant ever dispute it.

If you've chosen the safe place, your bank will side with the seller.

2) I don't do nothing and assume that the delivery guy  would simply leave it as safe drop which would help my case for DNA.

If It's left unattended or a signature Is requested, the DNA Is good to go.

My question: Based on the context above, if I choose to specify to safe drop can I still claim it and if it go to the P.O box I guess I won't be able to DNA it?

For the reason already mentioned, don't choose the safe place yourself.

Update: The courier simply left a pick up notice to my mailbox and left. Tracking didn't have any out of delivery scan... Not sure if there's anything else to do since pickup requires IDs and proof of address.

Most likely verified, and I assume they would leave it at the nearest post office, but there's a CCTV in the corner as well.

Thank you as always for your insights and time. That was my second option by doing the sealed box. Apparently, they go quite easy with return and offer a trial period where if you aren't satisfied you can return it within the allowed timeframe. I did some researched and the official website has a section for refurbished product where they sell used and certified products from return for a lower price. They mentioned on the refurbished section that 

A refurbished product is one that’s been returned to Bose, for any reason.

which mean if they every suspect that the sealed return is tampered they might take a more meticulous check. I might give it a go or simply try an authorized retailer instead that ship with a courier.

Not sure if they thoroughly check sealed returns. Obviously, I don't want to be stuck with an expensive retail price tag headphone that actually cost a few bucks to make  lol!

Thanks for your update! Did your carrier left it at the doorstep? Mine went directly to the post office without even going out for delivery according to the tracking which sucks.
