In terms of In-store SEing, Big W Is vulnerable and rather easy to manipulate their employees at the customer service counter.

Let us know how It goes.

To be honest I am a little nervous about doing it in store as I am not sure of the in-store return procedure and the possibility of them finding out and eventually then looking at cameras. I don't know the lengths they will go to...
When the product goes through the returns, is back into their stock then they subsequently find out that the item is not actually in the box, what are the chances of them linking it back to ME?

Understood.

Go with the methodology you're comfortable and confident with.

When the Item Is sold, It will be picked, packed and purchased by another buyer.

Given It will go through so many hands, It'll be very difficult (If not Impossible) to link the Inconsistency to you. Moreover, who's to say the new buyer Isn't responsible and attempting to SE the company?

I assume your talking about boxing? Why not try wrong item instead for in store?

I was just going to Sealed box AirPods as I have everything required to do so,
I am still weighing up if i want to do an in-store though.
But if i were to do an instore, id also choose sealed box again.

In my experience over 35 years of social engineering, In-store SEing has a very good success rate with the sealed box method.

You can choose precisely when to perform the SE, namely by attending the store when they're Inundated with customers and returns, as well as Identify the employee (at the service counter) who appears most vulnerable and susceptible to manipulation.

The handing of online returns Is beyond your control.

Sealed box on Big W went well.
The store was NOT busy and I was the only customer at the service desk. Two employees examined the box seals briefly, asked me why i was returning the item and asked for my name and my address as I was returning the product for cash. Of course I told them my real name and address Wink lol. I was a little caught off guard when they did ask for those details but I played It off and my refund was issued there and then.

The refund could have happened faster by doing it a little later in the day when it would have been busier as there were two employees at the service desk and both of them examined the seals (one of them was even feeling the seals itself) however it is hard to say whether they actually knew what they were looking for when feeling it.

I didn't expect anything less.

Well done.

In terms of asking about the return and requesting ID, both Kmart and Target operate In a similar fashion.

Harris Scarfe also tends to do the same.

To play It safe, hit It when they're Inundated with customers at the service counter.

They're less likely to have the time to check the return In the manner you've described.

Quote:Kogan offers store credit
I emailed Kogan a while back and asked them "if i was unsatisfied with one of their items and didnt want to shop at kogan again,.. could they refund the money into my bank account rather than give me store credit for the refund?"
They said that they can cancel the account credit and issue me a refund.

I emailed Catch.com with the same question and they said I would need to mention that in the return details and the request will get reviewed by their team.
Haven't targeted them before, but does anyone have any SE experience with them personally?

Officeworks also requires a "Government ID" for returns though it didnt specify whether that was just for instore or online.. any experience with them?

I'm pretty certain It's In-store.

Are you looking at online or In-store?
