Empty box method - investigation? #1
Hello guys
I came here with question. All of you who did empty box method on any item on Amazon.. Was there any investigation from Amazon’s side? I am wondering if they do some steps to find the cause. Do they report that on police station? Any experience? Thanks one advance

What’s the cost and weight of the item that you’re trying to EB from them?

I’m pretty sure they ask you to sign an affidavit depending on cost of item it could be a PR.

An investigation is standard procedure of any SE. Sit tight for their response, nothing to be concerned about for the moment

They'll liaise with the carrier to cross-check the weight of the consignment.

The AirPods are light enough to not register a weight, so there's no cause for concern.

No, It's a separate event altogether, by way of requesting (you) to file a police report.

Hello Guys
Thank you for your replies. Probably, I didn’t make myself clear. I already did couples of EB for different amounts. The most expensive item was about 500$ I didn’t have to fill any police report, just an incident one. I changed all contact and address info except payment method which was the same in every EB case. And now I am wondering if they can start any investigation for every EB or even connect all each otherwith police/bank? From your experience and knowledge, does Amazon do such things? I used Amazon.de

If you used same payment method for a few refunds, amazon could decline further refund requests and/or ban your account, but that's it.
Historical refunds are just a statistical data for them, they have no target nor manpower to proceed with such thorough historical investigations, its not part of their job.

I forgot to add that every order was made on different account.
So, you want me to say that they don’t have any department who does further investigations with police/bank?

They won't Investigate just for the sake of It.

If It triggers a high volume of refunds, Irregular spending patterns etc, that's when they'll look Into It further.
