It Might be the reason. I did this method once with Costco, peel off the old one with razor, then apply the new one. Brought back to Costco, refund on site, no problem at all.

Also did sealed method with amazon for earphone, I applied a layer of shrink wrap. And no issue either.

Good work.

If those assessing the return do not go over It with a fine-tooth comb, a refund will be forthcoming.

Alright, @mothered, still waiting for the investigation to finish and I'll contact amazon through live chat again on Wednesday (3 business days). However, I was curious if I could still box them if the investigation concludes, that they did not receive the phone, which it probably will.

I was thinking about boxing them with dry ice as 240g would obviously be too much for the boxing method without. What's your opinion on it? Will they let it slide or get very suspicious and not approve it?

Furthermore, I'm curious about the SB method in person. Shouldn't that be much easier? If not, what makes it more difficult? I guess if they open it, there's no way to just say that it was a mistake. On the other hand they'll most likely not open the box especially not on Friday/Saturday evening. If you pay cash, they can't even trace you and somebody could have stolen the phone. But also it'd more likely for them to blacklist the phone as soon as another customer gets the dummy, wouldn't it?

As always, your help is highly appreciated!

Wait for the outcome of their Investigation.

If It's declined and an escalation also has the same result, we'll tackle what you've mentioned above.

Just contacted Amazon and it sounded like there hasn't even been another investigation. The agent told me that a specialist will contact me within the next 24 to 48 hours. I'm not sure how I should react now.

No reaction at this stage.

The next course of action (If any), will be based on their reply.

Okay, they have replied and sent me a QR code for the label to drop off the parcel.

Box them.

At 240 grams, there's not much dry Ice needed.

And they won't get suspicious? Also, how can I make sure that the parcel's weight is being recorded at drop off?

In what respect?

The weight will be recorded, so apply the dry Ice accordingly.
