Apple Watch DNA or EB #1
Hey guys,
Just received from Amazon.es an Apple Watch.
Delivery was not done at my address, the driver contacted me and met me at outside a local restaurant. No signature or any proof of Id was requested.
That being said, DNA sounds quite straightforward but I heard missing item has quite high success rate with Amazon.
Which one do you reckon I should go for?
Thanks for your help.

Was the communication via call or text?

Correct, the EB/missing Item method has a very high success rate.

Under the circumstances, both methods are equally effective.

The nature of the DNA tends to trigger an Investigation, with the possibility of a PR. The missing Item method avoids the latter - despite Amazon sometimes requesting a report due to being naive and mismanaging the claim.

First of all, thanks once again for your help. It’s invaluable.
The communication took place via call and I highly doubt it was recorded.
The tracking number still states “in delivery” so it wasn’t updated when the package was handed to me.
I’m still on the fence between the dna or the missing item because of all the variables, specially because according to the tracking number it was not yet delivered.

You're welcome.

That's what I wanted to clarify.

If It was a text message, It would've been a different story altogether.

It will be updated and marked as delivered. It's just a question of when, and not If.

Your only concern Is that you're (seemingly) still waiting for the package to arrive.

If It remains at "In delivery", It works to your advantage - obviously they will not locate the package, hence It's lost In transit.

That aside, as said, both methods are equally effective so It's your call as to which of the two you're comfortable and most Importantly, confident with.

Thanks again for your help.
I’ll wait a bit and then contact Amazon but I’ll keep you updated.

Just to keep you updated, like you previewed, the status has changed to “delivered” much later than the actual delivery date.
Even though the dna would be possible I think I’ll go for a missing item.

Please do.

Carriers do mark packages as delivered, sometimes not at the time of delivery - as you've just experienced.

No problem at all.

Be sure to say that upon opening the box, the watch was missing.

I spoke with the rep on the chat and said that no Watch was present when I opened the box.
He then said I need to file a PR for them to further investigate the claim.
I clarified that I received the package but the Watch was missing but he still said something in the lines of “we need the PR to move action against the carrier since the product left the Amazon warehouse without problems.”
Should I just go ahead and file a report or should I take another approach?
Thanks again

Too late to take the DNA approach. You could file a PR or try FTID.

Thanks for your input.
It was never my intention to claim DNA but asking for a PR doesn’t make much sense with an EB.
Nevertheless, I have no problem filling one.

Agreed.

It's not a theft-related Incident, hence a PR Is not warranted, but It's typical of Amazon to continually fail to use common sense.
