merchant found out my FTID and sent me a letter, need advice #1
i did 2 ftids on the same merchant, the platform automatically refunded after tracking showed delivered.

merchant sent me a letter today saying they "believe" this is intentionally sending it to the wrong address because "usps image showed different"

here is the question... what does usps shows when an investigation started? do they have picture of the label that was edited? what was the image.

seller urged me to return or they will pursuit legal action. i do not have the items as i sold them already. should i just tell seller i can send them money or what should i do

please dont make fun of me, im extremely upset about this now and i know i fucked up so i need advise

What site did you do this on, was it Amazon?

If so, it's really important to make sure you're only doing hits on items "Shipped and Sold by Amazon" as it avoids opening you up for retaliation of this sort.

The way you're using the terms "merchant" & "seller" makes me think that this was a smaller or independent businesses/operation.

I keep suggesting to never use the flawed so-called FTID garbage, and this Is a prime example In support of my recommendation.

Quote:here is the question... what does usps shows when an investigation started? do they have picture of the label that was edited? what was the image.
Each package/box/envelope etc Is scanned, Inclusive of weights & dimensions taken for record keeping and cost of freight. If there's a discrepancy, It will be Investigated and cross-checked.

USPS uses an automated process named "Mail Imaging", whereby photos are taken of each and every consignment - which can be handed over to a given law enforcement agency on request. A court order Is not required to obtain such Information.

I'd pay up. They have every right and all the proof needed to come after you, and mail fraud is a serious crime. There's a reason why people only target big cooperate shops (other than targeting small vendors being scummy) and that's because they just count these as costs of doing business and move on. Smaller vendors will pursue.

not trying to make fun of you BUT

your kinda stupid and unfair by trying to scam/SE a small business , could you please tell us which website your SE ? , but again its more likely for small scale business to open investigation as they are wont be as busy like nike so they have time in their hand . can i ask what did u "SE" and how much was it , if its less than 1K and they pursuing a Police investigation that fucked up,

you shouldve tried at least a diffrent method if you wanted to SE small scale organizations
