Apple One-time Exception Question 11-26-2021, 11:15 PM
#1
Hey, browsing the forum, I have learned that Apple can offer a one-time refund to a customer without them having to send the item back. I am planning on SE'ing a Macbook Pro and was wondering what the best method would be to take advantage of this policy? I was thinking of saying I have a leaking battery but apparently Macbook batteries can't leak lol

There's a system in place at the Apple Store called the "one-time exception" that lets a Genius replace a device no matter how damaged or how far out of warranty it is.
It's entirely his call, so treat your Apple employee kindly.
UPDATE: We've learned that Apple's Geniuses have lost the ability to grant one-time exceptions since our source worked for the company. But managers retain this ability.
From somewhere I found..

Please explain what do you mean by "refund" and what process are you going to use?
Thank you
