The boxing method Is also available.
Im not very well versed in this. My understanding is, you use the regular return label, and fill the box with dry ice as it will sublimate before arrival. If the original package was 5.5 pounds. How many pounds of dry ice would I need to use? All I know is that it'd need to weight atleast 5.5 pounds at the first scan/weight check. When is the 1st weight check?

Fair enough.

That Is correct.

It's the "Item" and not the package.
I doubt the GPU per se, will be anywhere near that weight.

It depends on atmospheric conditions, transit and storage time.

As said, I don't believe your GPU Is the said weight.
The AMD Radeon RX 6600 Is around 1.6 pounds (725 grams), so I don't see how yours can be such a huge variance.

Depends who's servicing the delivery.
Postal services take the weight at the counter, while carriers record It the moment It reaches their depot.

Might be hard to believe but GPU's have increased pretty drastically in size/weight. The rtx3080ti being about 4 inches longer than the rx6600 you mentioned. But yes, the weight varies by brand - I've seen 4.4,4.7, 5.2 etc. Wont know until I receive one myself.
Do you box yourself? For this scenario lets pretend that it ends up weighing 4.5 pounds. Through UPS, in minnesota weather conditions, how many pounds of dry ice would you consider?

That weighs 3 pounds (1360 grams), which Is still significantly less than 5.5 pounds.

I don't know the weather conditions In Minnesota, nor the transportation time from the seller to your place of residence.
It's something you'd need to personally evaluate and calculate.

Well a quick google shows 5-10 pounds of dry ice will fully sublimate in 24 hours - So even with priority shipping, it'd be gone by the time they receive and review the return.
So what I'd need to do is return a package legit - And see how long it takes to arrive to the depot where its weighed?
Lets say it took 24 hours. - I'd put dry ice in a box for 24 hours and test how many pounds sublimate (Lets say 8). If the GPU weighs 3 pounds, Id send 11 pounds of dry ice total? Sound about right?

You can certainly do that, but you'd also need to calculate the sublimation time while In storage at the depot, and In transit until It's received by the company.
The last thing you need, Is for the Inwards goods department to open the package and see It contains dry Ice - due to not fully sublimating.

Yes, that's correct.
