Apple Watch Activated #1
Hi fellow friends!

Recently I’ve received an Apple Watch box without the apple watch inside, if you know what I mean.

I’ve contacted the seller (not Apple nor Amazon) and I’ve sent back the empty box,. They were very surprised but eager to help me out e.g. refunding me. In the proces of sending the watch back, I’ve activated it and started to use it.

I’m now still waiting to receive my refund. Was
it a foolish move to activite the watch while sending the box back, hence waiting for the refund?

Kind regards
Jesper.

Well I mean, it wasn't the smartest choice to open it and set it up before getting reimbursed. But nevertheless, you should be fine as you didn't buy it straight from Apple, but some companies do have the ability to check, but again you should be fine.
What I would recommend for next time is to use a different excuse other than DNA or empty box, such as FTID, as nowadays there are precautions to prevent this, obviously not all companies do this but a lot have caught on (speaking from experience) like the way amazon requires a passcode on delivery for valuable items, and shipping companies keeping track of the wight throughout the journey of the package. But just keep to what you know and trust and to make sure nothing dodgy happens to you.

It's always good practice to wait until the funds clear Into your account, and utilize the device thereafter.

Given there wasn't any suspicion raised with your claim, It's highly unlikely that action will be taken by the seller.

They discovered there is a slight variation in weight.
Played dumb and slightly annoyed of waiting and losing money.

The watch only weighs 36 grams, so I don't see how they've Identified a discrepancy In weight. For all we know, they could've made the whole thing up.

Anyway, please reply when you've received their response.

Now they mailed me: after an internal investigation we are sure the Apple Watch was included in the shipment, and since the shippingbox was untouched, we would like to have a police report stating theft by unknown people asap.
