I have a decently old account (5+ years) with many orders (50+ at least) and only 1 return + 1 returnless refund.

I've already ordered a Samsung galaxy watch 4 classic silver, sold and shipped by amazon

Originally I thought of swapping it with my old non-functioning Samsung Gear s3 (black). (Not a good idea right?)

Then I found out there's a serial number on the Galaxy Watch 4.

Now this package will need to be cleared through customs (this is handled and pre-charged by Amazon) and the delivery guy is the same guy for every order, he can probably confirm that the package was handed to me.

My options:

1. So I don't think I can do EB or DNA, the package will only contain the watch and Amazon will see customs charged a certain amount for the item + the same delivery guy.

2. FTID: DHL thoroughly checks the address and scans barcodes and I've already read the blog by Mothered on how flawed it is, and I agree.

3. Battery leak. I might put some baking soda + water or photoshop to make it look like a leak and try to ask for a refund without returning.

3.5 If they insist on a return, I can burn my old watch beyond recognition but the physical buttons may be obvious that it isn't the same Galaxy watch 4.

4. Sealed box may not work since customs can probably confirm they've inspected the item and that they charged for it. And they'll likely open the box.

I think 3 and 3.5 (aka plan B) are my best options? Or I should keep trying (3) until I find a rep through live chat that will refund without return? Or maybe it's possible that the Amazon rep will direct me to go to a nearby Samsung service center?

I have done a few smartwatches in the past, One of my favourite items to do is they tend to go by flawlessly.

You say you have already ordered so this method I personally do will maybe help you in future SE's is I order 2 items at the same time (e.x Apple Smart Watch & Apple AirPods) I ait for the package to arrive before saying that the apple watch was not in the box and I only received the buds with the buds costing a decent amount on there own the agent is usually quick to offer a replacement or a refund take which ever you wish and then wait maybe a week before returning the AirPods for a full refund.

In fact, It works In your favor. You've simply returned what you received and given It's gone through so many hands during shipment, anyone could've tampered with It and replaced the original Item. Anyway, @Akoz has you covered.

In fact, It works In your favor. You've simply returned what you received and given It's gone through so many hands during shipment, anyone could've tampered with It and replaced the original Item. Anyway, @Akoz has you covered.

Thanks! Do you think the leaking battery idea isn't that good? I'm willing to tell them that I don't mind shipping it back, kind of making them think I'm not trying anything.

Also because it would be retaped by the delivery company, they might be able to confirm that the item was in the package after customs.

Also @Akoz has me covered for future smartwatches, not this one unfortunately. And also they could still split shipments, it's common for my shipments to only have one item per box.

If I claim missing item, won't I be questioned by the courier? And that they may get authorities involved?

Also is it a bad idea to place my old watch inside and say I got the wrong item? Although the packaging is different, it's better than saying the box is completely empty?

Since the courier handled customs and they resealed the package, wouldn't the courier question me and possibly get authorities involved?

Would it be better if I had the item picked up from a Aramex pick up location? I would send a driver to pick it up and they would probably check his ID. Or do you think this is too risky?
