Wrong Item Recieved Not working #1
Follow up on my VR switch method is not working. I ordered a VR set from amazon warehouse deals. I switched out new base stations with my old ones and returned the unit. return delivered back to HQ June 4th. I go to chat today and wondered why I wasn't refunded only to get a MSG back saying I returned a heavily used VR in correct item packaging. I said wasn't it used to begin with cause I bought it used. They also say serials don't match so they can't refund me. What can I do here? This never happened to me before. I've done successful returns like this before. I'm in a stump. Do i just suffer a $1k loss... or keep perusing this? Will a phone call help? or should I just do a credit card charge back?

Did you use the same account for this SE as for the previous successful returns? Because after a while, 99% of the cases they realize the returned item is incorrect, but they keep quite until you do it again and they check your return more thoroughly then you get the email from the warehouse telling you to go .......self. Furthermore a $1k item is most likely to be checked if serials match, unless you opt for the sealed box method where you have better chances. You could try insisting a couple more days writing them emails saying you returned the exact same item you received and it's not your fault if they mixed up the items in their warehouse. If you are unsuccessful you can always do a chargeback.

I did this on a new account, but of course I had same address and payment method as my other acc where I did do these. I did this same exact item before almost a year ago and it worked. Looks like im being watched at this point. I had a CIS email or whatever its called about too many returns after successfully getting an entire vr set for free. I have one last question. Is it possible to have them return this item I sent them that was labeled incorrect item? I'd rather get it back so I can sell it... without dealing with charge backs

That's not how the wrong Item received method works.

They're expecting the return, so evidently they'll most likely check It and Identify It's not part of their Inventory. In a nutshell, the method's objective Is to return a stock Item of theirs (purchased on a separate account), hence when they scan It, It will come up as their product. As such, they'll assume they did In fact dispatch an Incorrect Item and Issue a refund thereafter.

To rescue the SE and given you've purchased from Amazon Warehouse Deals, tell them you've returned what they've originally sent you. They offer returned/used/refurbished goods, so as far as you're concerned, you've purchased someone else's (used) return- which justifies the service they offer.

Heres a conversation chat I had yesterday on this topic

Would you suggest a phone call having a greater chance of successfully rescuing me SE? Or I should continue to pursue chat

They're completely missing the point, namely the fact that they sell used goods- many of which may not be the original Item from the previous buyer. This Is their weakness and your strength. Remain adamant that you've returned "their product"- what they originally sent.

In answer to your question, a lot more can be said and Immediately addressed over a phone conversation, so opt for a phone call and If need be, request your claim be escalated to a senior level.

When someone returns a product, amazon creates a unique internal number for this returned product (LPN Code, which is put on the item). If this item has a serial number (e.g. a phone), they scan the serial number of the returned product. So with this unique internal number, different informations are stored in their system: the items condition, the serial number, the account that has returned it, etc.

when you return such an item again (returning Warehouse item), they know exactly what item you've received and can check if the item you returned fits. They actually know it BETTER than when you buy a new item (for these, they often don't store the serial number).

The LPN (which Is a 14-digit number), Is used by FBA for Internal tracking of customer returns, thereby It Identifies the return In their fulfillment center - which correlates with their returns report.

The OP's post relates to Amazon Warehouse Deals.

I had numerous occasions when LPN-codes were used for new items sold by Amazon and also Amazon Warehouse Deals items.

When you order a "new" item and you get an item with an LPN code, it is a returned product, but it has no damages etc, so it is sold as new.
