As an SEr I would keep fighting against my case, sound really emotional, do whatever in order for them to give up at the end.
Given every company and police department operate differently to some degree, It's not possible to generalize.
If the police refuse the report, that's precisely what you'd tell the company via written confirmation or verbally.
Got you, though some companies will think you are lying to them depending on the circumstances.

The stock on hand Is not relevant.
Is It only the GPU you wish to SE from Amazon?

I should've elaborated on "verbally".
You'd tell the company the name of the officer (rank and number), as well as the police station In question.

Both GPU and the RAM I've currently ordered (set to arrive at some point today.. (although the GPU takes priority)

Are they arriving on the same shipment/consignment?

Are you still planning to use the sealed box method?

Negative. The RAM arrives today, and the GPU is still very much in the method determining stage, mainly due to my own hesitation and inexperience with such valuable items (I'm deterred by the possibility of the SE going wrong and not being given the chance to properly return and refund the real item - any knowledge that could alleviate this?).
For the RAM, I intend to use EB or DNA, though am torn between the two, as I've only had previous success using EB for airpods pro.

Again, this is still very much in the works, but from what I've deduced, it seems like the most fitting approach (in the event that precautionary measures preventing DNA are in place).

It's not a question of alleviating It, but rather rescue the failed SE as per your Intention of returning the Item for a refund.
The DNA method will suffice, whereby you'd claim that a household member accepted the package In your absence, thus It can be sent back as per the company's return policy.

What's the precise weight of the Ram?

It's listed as precisely 124 grams.
As for the GPU DNA, I'll give it a shot when I no longer have a need to move address.

It's just within the limit of the missing Item method.

No problem.
Alternatively and on the grounds It's extremely light, the partial method can be used by ordering many Items on the same consignment. In the event It fails, you can say that your partner opened the package while you were at work but neglected to hand you the GPU. It can be returned thereafter.

The RAM arrived (posted through letterbox) along with another parcel containing 2 other items (this was left outside). My roommate who is also in on it, saw that no photographic evidence was taken. I weighed the RAM and it clocked in at 146g.
How to proceed from here? Partial method stating "two other items arrived but RAM did not" - or EB for the RAM despite the uncovered higher weight?
Note that I'm not necessarily intending to SE the other two items.

The GPU weighs 1.6kg (not very light), although I've maybe misunderstood this reply

It's way too heavy for the partial method.
If an Investigation Is opened and the consignment Is cross-checked with the carrier's records, the SE will fail.
