Tools needed for the sealed box method? #1
Hi

I have been looking at Youtube when they seal openened Iphone boxes and resealing them with a heat gun.

I have a question, what tools do I need for doing stuff like in this videos. https://youtu.be/81JhFbtEhGE
What is that machine for cutting the plastic and where can get my hand on bags for resealing the packages?

Thanks

If you do Apple products, I found it's often easier to simply carefully cut open the film on three sides, empty/replace the contents, then glue or tape back the film. This way you don't have to replace the seal tab or ensure the seams are perfectly symmetrical. If done properly it's invisible to the untrained eyes.

I've actually written a guide to this effect.

You're not working to meet a deadline, so the key to ensure a flawless result, Is to take all the time you need to open and reseal It.

Hear hear.

That being said I've sent back some sloppy work to Amazon and it still went through. Might have been lucky, might have been because the agents process an average of 200 boxes an hour and don't have time to inspect every RMA. Not complaining either way!

After thinking about it the for a while I was thinking about to try with a sealed box with just cutting the plastic in the bottom in and glue the plastic back. My first question is what kind of gkue would be best for the task? I was thinking of opening a Mac Mini from the bottom and  cutting the sides  and removing the good stuff inside  and gluing the plastics back. And suggestions or thoughts?

Here is an image how the Mac Mini looks like from the underside https://imgur.com/bNxasUJ so i think is would be possible is if I am carefull.

Thanks
