Idea to SE Any Electronic Item - karoloydi - 08-24-2018 I just had an idea. I'm not sure if anyone has done this before. You check on ebay for faulty items. You get the serial number from description and start the SE with the company. If it is successful, you buy the item from the eBay seller for a fraction of the price and return it and get a fully working one. RE: Idea to SE Any Electronic Item - mothered - 08-24-2018 No need to purchase the Item, box the company Instead. That aside, your method will work. Thanks for the guide. Can you explain that a little more for someone that's new to the game?

If the company requests the serial, you provide the one from eBay. When they ask to return the Item for a replacement/refund, you send the box without the Item. Pack the box with dry Ice that's consistent with the weight of the Item, make a tear and tape It. When the company receives the box, the dry Ice would've vaporized (hence empty box) and because of the tape, It gives the Impression as though the Item was stolen during transit. You'll receive the refund/replacement thereafter. RE: Idea to SE Any Electronic Item - toonblue - 08-24-2018 @mothered - I hear dry ice mentioned all the time for boxing, I actually spoke about it with @DragonicRek a few days ago and it seems to be something that I really cannot get ahold of here in the UK. Do you have any suggestions on where I should be looking to buy or how I can make it? (If it can be domestically created) RE: Idea to SE Any Electronic Item - mothered - 08-24-2018 (08-24-2018, 03:08 PM)toonblue Wrote: @mothered - I hear dry ice mentioned all the time for boxing, I actually spoke about it with @DragonicRek a few days ago and it seems to be something that I really cannot get ahold of here in the UK. If It doesn't register a noticeable weight during transit (such as Ram), there's no need for dry Ice. It doesn't seem too difficult to make dry Ice at home, but getting hold of a fire extinguisher may be an Issue. I mean, you could've just ordered it directly in the first place and gotten it returned. But yeah I've done that a few times RE: Idea to SE Any Electronic Item - toonblue - 08-26-2018 @mothered. Yeah. A fire extinguisher is out of reach at the moment. What kind of store do you buy from? Hardware? Yes, I thought as much. A hardware store will definitely have one. Based on my locality there are a lot of Industrial companies who have fire extinguishers, most of which are outdated, sitting In their warehouse. They're more than happy to hand one over. Alternatively, eBay has quite a few but you need to weigh the cost of the extinguisher against the Item you wish to SE.
