Please educate me on picture metadata - karoloydi - 08-20-2018

I've read about 50 pages on this forum. I couldn't find any information on how to clear properly any information on pictures already there from where originally downloaded (ebay, google images, etc.)
And also how to make it believable that it is your own metadata.

Can you not use photoshop and then print it as a pdf? Wouldn't that remove all metadata?

Or just do prntscrn of the file? And open it in MS paint?

By the way, I just finished editing the pictures. Has it ever happened to you that you did such a good job photoshoping that the original looks a bit fake? lol

If you're looking for a simple and quick way to edit the exif data, thexifer.net should do it.
As of making the data believable, you can probably look up what kind of data a device normally inserts in to the picture on Google.

If you’re trying to clear all metadata, and have access to a Mac, an app called A Better Finder Attributes works.

If you’re using Windows or Mac, you can strip metadata in Adobe Lightroom.

Some metadata can be removed via "Properties" option in Windows. Might need to use a program to remove some.

Photoshop shows in metadata, if I'm not mistaken. As a PDF, it may not.

Give this tool a shot.
