I would like to check out the deep web but have been told I should protect myself first. Is TOR for the Android available? Or should I use a different method? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

1 thing I can say is, feds are all over that stuff so, I would be extremely careful.

Once the Orbot package Is Installed, you can then navigate via the Tor network on your Android device.
Alternatively, the Orbot app Is available via Google Play. For added anonymity to prevent your ISP from knowing you're connected to Tor, also Install a VPN. I recommend DroidVPN
The connection will be as follows:
VPN > Tor > Exit Node > Website.

Certainly. It depends how you wish to anonymize your connection- your ISP or VPN.
This option does help protect you from exit node leaks.
