How To SE Intel CPU - TheBoyD - 08-01-2018 This is not my method, I found it on other forum and watned to share it here because it gave me a few ideas where I could do the same thing. If someone posted this before let me know. I have tried this with a few companies, and the best company was PC World Business (UK). This method actually surprised me that it worked, and how quick it was. I've done it a few times now, and it did not fail me yet, so thought I would share. First off, this only works with intel CPU's, or any other product where packaging has a window on it, so you can see the product inside. Steps: 1. Order the CPU, and when it arrives don't open it. 2.Call the company up, and explain that your item has arrived, and the security seal is still on the product. (Intel have anti void stickers on their products.) However, you can see that the item isn't in the box because there is a window on the packaging, where you can normally see inside the box. So you are confused as to why there is no product, and didn't want to open the box/break the seal in case there is nothing inside. The rep will most likely not know what to do and go speak to a manager. If you are lucky, they will offer a refund straight away. 3.Normally they will want to investigate internally. They will call back a couple days later, and will ask for a picture of the box with nothing inside and the seal still in tact. This is when you get a heat gun, or powerful hairdryer, and blast the heat on the sticker long enough for the glue to become soft. You will then be able to very carefully take the seal off just enough to get into the box and get the CPU out. Then stick the sticker back down and let it cool down. You need to do this quick enough that the glue is still warm and sticky. 4.Now take a few pictures and send them in. Now wait for them to get back to you, and success! They should offer you a refund. If they decide to be awkward and ask for you to send the box back, tell them you threw it away, since you didn't think they would need it. Don't send it back, because its pretty obvious when you look in person that its been tampered. They shouldn't question it. This can also work with other products that have a window on the box like and motherboards or something.
