Estimated item value limit on mature account - aaaaa12345 - 07-23-2018

I have an Amazon account that's 8 years old and has over 500 orders on it totaling to probably over $10,000. I have never done SE on this account but have returned maybe 15 items over those years for legitimate reasons (faulty items, decided I didn't like the items etc.). I have never reported an order as lost. What do you think the approximate upper limit would be for an attempt at refunding a high value electronic item using the 'Did not arrive' method? They never ask for signature on delivery. This will be a one time deal so I want to make it worthwhile. Is $800 too high? Thanks.

Judging by other's posts and my general knowledge, you will be completely fine. Just wait about two days before you contact Amazon. Whatever you do, don't use the device if its a phone or whatever because they can see if it is being used. Since your account is old and reputable, they probably won't ask you to file a police report if you use the did not arrive method.

I agree with @skrtja
I would say less than 3k you should be fine
More than 3k wil result in more steps and will be more difficult to carry out

Thanks for the replies, guys. I have been reading hundreds of posts on the forum and have got the impression that anything over about $500 tends to result in a police report being requested. So I am very surprised to read your suggestion that under $3,000 is likely to go smoothly. It’s hard for me to believe. Many posters here struggle with refunding a few hundred dollars without a police report.

Considering your account has so many orders, I would say <3000$ is certainly possible. Also, considering your account hasn't been flagged, your chances are high

Yeah, had your account be more fresh, you can probably get under $500 without police report. The size and age of your account is great and is almost guaranteed to pass without a report needed.

Once you get to around $500+ it can be considered a felony. So be careful what you buy, one wrong move and you could get into a lot of trouble.

This ^^

Take that into consideration. Most companies won't press charges unless you've se'd something in the thousands, but always be careful

On these grounds, you'll be fine.

If the Item Is within reason and you prepare, formulate and execute your SE accordingly, the probability of a successful outcome significantly Increases. Do remember that "execution" Is vital.

Take what Mothered said into note.
This is quite possibly the most important step in SE'ing
