How to SE Tablets (specifically Kindles. Detailed) - DragonicRek - 07-15-2018

Hello sinister.li, this is GosuSang, and this will be my 2nd tutorial. Hope you enjoy and feel free to leave questions or comments. Also, suggestions on improving these methods will be greatly appreciated.

Note:
This is for educational purposes only. I am not responsible for anything that happens to you otherwise. I may help you in the process of SE'ing a tablet, but responsibility will be on you - the social engineer- if anything is to happen

General Rules
1. Preferably have the tablet purchased from Amazon. Amazon's customer service is the best from my personal experiences. The reason why Amazon is so prosperous is that they're all about the customer.
2. If you are going to SE a tablet, try to SE one that's not too expensive( <250$). If you are going to SE a tablet above, be prepared to do more steps which is explained later below.
3. Preferably do this on an Amazon account where there hasn't been any major refunds/SEs. Amazon will soon deny your attempts to refund if you attempt it too many times.
4. Having Prime is your advantage. If you have prime, notice how every time you call Amazon Customer Service, they say "thank you ____ for being a prime member"? It's because they value Prime members more than those that aren't.
5. Now, if you aren't purchasing the tablet via Amazon, the method is the same, but there might be less or more work. Can't guarantee that Amazon's policies are the same as other companies.
6. Remember to be polite when you are talking to them. The last person you want to aggravate is the person whom you're trying to SE. Calling is always better than doing live chat.

Step 1. Purchasing the device. This one is pretty simple. Purchase the device and get the package.

Step 2. Wait 24 hours before calling customer service.

Step 3. Call Amazon Customer service. (If you are in US, the number is this (888) 280-4331). If you are not using Amazon, call the place where you bought it from.

Step 4.  Give the representative the required information. Order number, account number, email address, home address etc.

Step 5. Tell the representative that the battery is leaking and that you're not comfortable using the tablet anymore. It's considered a fire hazard to ship leaking batteries so you can't ship it back. If the representative asks you to ship it back, you have to remind them that you can't ship leaking batteries due to potential fire hazard.

There will be many possible options the company can give you. I will list the most probable options

1.  Provide pictures of the leaking battery.
ssTo option 1, you have a couple choices you can do to SE them with the picture.
1. You can try to Photoshop the product to make it seem that it has a leaking battery. If you don't think you have the skills to Photoshop, there are members who have Photoshop services.
2. Tell them you don't have an accessible camera, send them a really bad quality photo, or can send them a corrupted file of the image.

2. Provide refund.
They'll most likely ask you  in which form of payment you want your refund (replacement tablet or money).

Note: As I said earlier, if you're trying to SE a more expensive tablet, be prepared to do more steps such as Photoshop or corrupted files. Essentially it's more work. From my experiences, Amazon will not make you send in proof unless your account has been flagged or the tablet's expensive.
Also, more importantly, do not follow this guide exactly. As a social engineer, it is your job to be able to improvise in these situations to manipulate the representative. Also, if a certain company's policies are a bit different, be creative in your SE'ing.

There you have it, hope you enjoyed my guide.
Best of wishes, Gosu Sang

Thanks, I try to make my guides as top-notch as I can.
Also, be prepared to be able to adapt. Not all scenarios are the same.
Best of wishes, if you need help, feel free to PM me

I believe these are the key elements (chronologically), that can also be used as a general guidance with other companies In a similar scenario.

Quote:Tell the representative that the battery is leaking
Quote:remind them that you can't ship leaking batteries due to potential fire hazard.
Quote:There will be many possible options the company can give you
Quote:Provide pictures of the leaking battery.
Quote:Tell them you don't have an accessible camera, send them a really bad quality photo, or can send them a corrupted file of the image.

Good work.

Yes I agree. I didn't want to state in the description that this will work for all technology, because other companies have different policies. But if the social engineer can adapt based on scenario, they can SE all these companies
