VPNBook - Percent - 07-01-2018 VPNBook is a free virtual private network that supports OpenVPN and point-to-point tunneling. It is supposedly funded by donations and advertisements. There are many rumours circulating that VPNBook is a honeypot, keeps logs, makes money by selling the data of its users, and more. VPNBook might keep logs, and might be selling its users data away. It is impossible to know what a VPN service does, who it is associated with, and how it makes money. However, VPNBook has very fast web surfing servers, and two relatively slow all-purpose servers. If you want United States content from Netflix, or want to remain "hidden" from your ISP while doing online activities (such as online movie streaming, browsing the web for illegal things, etc.), there is really no problem with using this service. If you do not know what OpenVPN is, do not know how to install it, or do not understand how to use the configuration files listed at the VPNBook web page, please feel free to ask me for assistance on this thread. Bear In mind, as long as you're connected via "your" ISP, your anonymity Is never 100% concealed- Irrespective of tools and methodologies used. As for those who "claim" they do not keep logs, take It with a grain of salt. One will never know what happens behind closed doors. Appreciate the contribution. Even on public Internet there are instances where your anonymity could be compromised. I highly recommend taking the "no logging" policies with a truckload of salt. Thank you for your appreciation. |
