A lot of users believe DDoS attacks are somewhat mediocre and whilst such attacks do not compromise data per se, depending on the nature of the site, downtime can have a significant negative Impact on the organization's financial state. Cloudflare works similarly but they also deliver as much stored content from your site as they can without having to forward the requests to your server.
