I recommend opting for an SSD. Particularly as the boot drive, you'll notice a significant difference In performance.

What's your overall usability?

Gaming and programming mostly.
Is the less space really worth the speed of a SSD?

It's good practice to store data on an external device.

External HDDs have significantly dropped In price, so the choice Is clear.

Alright, will price a few SSDs, my budget is very low so if it brings me over £1000 then I will probably stick with a HDD.

Upon upgrading my network to SSDs, the difference In performance Is substantial.

The GTX 1060 that you've selected, Is a pretty respectable card. I have two systems with that and the GTX 1070 In the rest (all laptops). Here's the benchmark on the latter.

I have six In total- namely Predators.

Each Is dedicated to the tasks they're configured to perform.
