Amazon SE. Requested police report - artourbabaev86 - 05-07-2018

Hello guys. It was my first experience with Amazon SE and i ordered a GTX 1080ti for 950£. It was a new account, first order, and actually i used really bad method - empty box. I picked up a package from post office, because they tried to deliver it when i wasnt home. Like 12 hours after i pick it up, i text support and tell them there is nothing in the box except invoice. They asked me to wait 48 hours and then text back. After 48 hours i text them again, and they said "still no update, please wait 48 hours more cuz we send it to Fulfillment center". I wait another 48 hours, text them again and now they saying that they cant proceed a refund unless i provide a police report.

Thats what i get on e-mail:
We have fully investigated this matter with the carrier. It appears that  the package weighed the correct weight,  upon delivery. The  package was delivered in good condition, with no visible packaging  damage.
Based on the results of our investigation, we won’t be able to provide a replacement or refund for this order at this time.
If you think that someone has intercepted your item, this is a crime,  and we advise you to contact your local police authorities, if  necessary, in order to pursue this matter further.

Actually for now i realize that i used really bad legend for high value item, and in fact that it was only first order. But still i want to know, is there a way to get a refund out of this situation? I dont have opportunity to go to police, i only can call them or chat. If anybody can help me here, i can pay for that.
Even if there is no way to get a refund, i'd like to hear any advises. Its sad for me that i didnt get a refund, but i got experience with amazon SE, and it will surely help me further Smile
Thank you so much!

For future reference, do not try this method with high value Items, namely those that can be Identified by weight during transit and on receipt. If It was a ring worth In the thousands that (obviously) weighs next to nothing, that's a different story.

Here's the uncertainty/Inconsistencies from Amazon:
Quote:It appears that the package weighed the correct weight

"Appears" being the operative word. The weight Is either correct or It Isn't, there's no In-between ("appears").

Quote:The  package was delivered in good condition, with no visible packaging  damage

"Visible" being the operative word.
Translation: "The  package was delivered In good condition, with no packaging damage that we could see".
It doesn't mean the package wasn't damaged, Amazon simply couldn't Identify whether It was.

A police report Is warranted on the above grounds. By obtaining such a report, you're declaring (by law) that the Item was not received. At the end of the day, It's your word against theirs and the report substantiates that what you're saying Is true and correct. It's your call and the outcome may well be In your favor, but I advise not to pursue It.

As mothered said couldn’t have been said any better, and I would do a little more than advise you not to pursue it. imo; bad choice to use a fresh amazon account, and to try to SE such a high value item for your first time, plus the bad method. SEing you have to learn to take your losses and move on and do your best on the next misssion. Learn from mistakes, that’s the best method of learning.
