A tutorial actually won't really help you imo.
Just take a look at SQL in general and you will learn how to abuse certain things automatically while a tutorial would only tell you a few basics that probably won't be useful in any real scenario.

Best is indeed that you learn SQL before trying something like this.
You can use SQLmap for educational purposes, which will automate a part of it, though it's always better to know what a tool is doing before running it.
