Hello, I will try a refund of a galaxy S9 +
I would like to know if it works, does Amazon investigate the IMEI number or others to track me and see that I lied?
Is it risky to keep the phone if the refund is ok?

They may blacklist the IMEI number which will render the phone useless, hence defeat the purpose of the SE.

As you've mentioned "validate my refund", a police report Is part of company protocol that's required to process the refund.

If the IMEI Is blacklisted (which most likely will be the case), you won't be able to use It anyway.

Hi mate
I’m working for amazon and I can tell you something from the inside. Any question feel free to ask. Usually items which are marked on their website as Serial Registered need serial number during return process. Before they shop parcel with item let say S9 phone they do imei scan before dispatch. During return prOcess we scan barcode of item and then serial. If serial is wrong we sideline item for problem solve which depends how fucked up he is could sent resolution ticket that you sent wrong item (wrong serial). After that they decide if issue refund for u or not
