Amazon - weight on package - Qlova - 03-22-2018

I ordered a tablet and an echo plus from amazon and im planning to try and get a refund for the echo plus at least. The guy didn't ask me to sign for it but I can see it shows the weight of package on front and I've weighed it matches exact.

Is this the case for all amazon parcels and will it not effect me in any way if I say that the echo plus was not in?

Or should I say I did not receive it (as I did not have to sign) and try and get a full refund? I have a legit amazon prime account, never opened a claim before.

I would say that you didn't receive anything.

Who delivered it? Was it your usual mail carrier or some amazon employee? The amazon guys tend to take a picture of the package standing infront of your door so they can prove it has been delivered (doesn't prove anything imo but that's not the point here). If it was just your mail carrier go ahead and say you didn't receive anything, nobody except him can prove it so it will be one person's word against another's and they will probably just refund you without further investigation.

It'll be difficult trying to justify a missing Item, when the package was weighed (during transit) and matched accordingly with the Item.

I assume you've personally accepted It. Was there any form of authentication/acknowledgement on receipt?

I said that the echo plus was not in the box and they instantly refunded me. I just thought it was a bit strange that the package was weighed yet they obviously don't keep track of this.

Like I said this is first time I've done amazon, how long should I wait before doing them again? Should I place some more legit orders in-between?

I'd suggest to wait a little while before SEing again, and use a different approach.

Hitting one SE after another In close timing, may seem suspicious.

I've just placed an order for some things I actually need, so I'll leave this. Do you think if I placed one after and said it never arrived would be safe?

Provided your method Is executed well, It should be fine.

Update:

The guy who bought the echo plus off me is saying that its giving him an error code, when I researched this a bit its clear that the error code is one that amazon use for stolen/lost goods. It did cross my mind that they would deactivate it as I've heard stories of apple doing the same with iPhones.

I'm going to refund the guy and sell the echo plus for parts. Next time I do amazon I will make sure it is a product out of their control however I've also heard them contacting apple like I mentioned above, and Microsoft to deactivate devices, anyone ever had experience with this?

I'm not sure tbh, I highly doubt they do that........
