I tried Lenovo as they have recently had a product recall on some of their thinkpads due to the battery pack being lose which could cause it to burn. I backed out of this though as the guy on the phone knew all the details of the serial number I used and it was a business, I didn't want for them to realise and then trace it back to me.
I had some fun tho, the nice Asian guy on the phone made for a perfect merge prank call with my local dominos[emoji23]
If you want I will happily help you but just be wary, I read on here somewhere that over £1,000 of stolen goods from warranty claims or whatever can result in jail time and this laptop was £1500...

ive never really heard of anyone SEing a nice laptop, but apple is always there for some easy money when refunding the macbooks

You are kinda contradicting yourself. You say that macbooks is easy money (easy to SE), while you at the same time say that you never have heard of anyone SEing a nice laptop... Well how come a macbook be free money then, when you have never heard of anyone SEing them?

I am not just going to give it a try, this is isn't a game. If we are talking SEing a pc worth around 1000USD, you don't just buy a pc and spit out some bullshit excuse. You should have every single detail planned.

Just don't get caught is easier said than done the question is how you avoid getting caught? Easier said than done when we are talking larger items around 1000USD, since it gets a lot harder to get away with.

That's a federal crime, I'd prefer to avoid that. I'm just saying. You're fucked if you get caught. I'm pretty sure no one here will report... Just be careful of what you say and do.
