The Pirate Bay Thousands Sued - mothered - 02-16-2018 Greetings to all, It's of no surprise to read the latest happenings with TPB. Quote:More than 1,000 lawsuits were filed against BitTorrent pirates in the United States last year. However, the sheer volume of lawsuits filed in January 2018 points to a dramatic increase to that number in 2018. During the first month of 2018, three copyright holders filed a total of 286 lawsuits against alleged pirates. Stating the obvious, always anonymize yourself online- no matter what the nature of your navigation Is at the time. Source. RE: The Pirate Bay Thousands Sued - 413 - 02-16-2018 Figured as much after a few years ago the owner was charged, seized, and arrested. Are these lawsuits being enforced? It's more so Identifying the legislation (behind the lawsuits) that're already enforced. RE: The Pirate Bay Thousands Sued - CyberGhost - 02-16-2018 tfw you are from third world country xD RE: The Pirate Bay Thousands Sued - Korvidius - 02-20-2018 No matter how many lawsuits they file, no matter how many arrests are made, The Pirate Bay has never died. And when it was taken down, it was down for maybe a week at the most. RE: The Pirate Bay Thousands Sued - glitch956 - 02-20-2018 Is this the end of the world? I don't know. Is this the end of pirate bay though? RE: The Pirate Bay Thousands Sued - zorrophreak - 02-20-2018 Well thats fun. I always wonder just how likely a lawsuit would be for those pirating. As always the more significant risk is to those who seed and share themselves, and less to those who just download. Either way, as always make sure to use ample protection whatever method it may be to be sure nothing happens to you. There are automated systems in place now which can figure out what you're torrenting via your ISP if you're not using a VPN. It happened to me once. There's a third party service that just passes complaints automatically onto your ISP who contacts you. It really sucks... https://www.rightscorp.com/ theres the company that got in contact with me RE: The Pirate Bay Thousands Sued - oneholon - 02-20-2018 (02-20-2018, 06:05 AM)neko.py Wrote:(02-20-2018, 02:05 AM)zorrophreak Wrote: Well thats fun. As long as people use a VPN/proxy they shouldn't have a problem. Have gotten a notice from my ISP as well when downloading without one. Their slogan of "The galaxy's most resilient BitTorrent site", certainly lives up to It's name. |
