How does cracking work - EdGy- - 12-03-2017
So recently I've been trying to get into cracking, I know what comb0 lists are but recently I've looked into account checkers and they all require "proxy lists" which I thought that proxies worked similarly to vpns , so what are proxy lists for, why are they useful, and do specific websites have specific proxy lists, why does it matter?

A proxy will basically hide your IP from whatever sites you're sending requests to. Most account checkers require proxies for anonymity or because the site will block you after a certain amount of requests from the same IP. If you are going to be using proxies, make sure they are actually anonymous, some proxies leak your real IP in the headers. Also, there are some checkers that don't require proxies.

Judging by the thread's title and prior to entering It, I was under the Impression you're referring to reverse engineering. @zabo has summed It up well.
Just adding to It, some sites that do have an account lockout policy In place, will lock the account after a certain number of Invalid login attempts based on "the account Itself", and not where the Invalid logins originated.
