MAC SE - Deadsprout - 11-10-2017
Hello guys, i've successfully se'd an i Mac
i've been confirmed the refund just now, i have just to wait 5-7 days till it appears on my account balance
should i wait to use it till i have the money in my hands? or there isnt risk 4 me?
(this wasnt an apple official SE)

Wait until you have it in your hands. Also, I would deposit the cash from your account, that way your purchase's with that cash won't be tracked.

As mentioned, It's best to wait but as far as they're concerned (your victim), the refund was conducted on solid grounds so there's no reason to monitor your movements.

yes, they never doubted about me. and the refund was so fast and clean

To them, It's just another day In the office without any cause for concern.

my only thought was. Can they somehow see if I turn it on and maybe see my andress ?
i dunno maybe like in apple with other device (iphone with imei, gps, dunno)
maybe withdraw the refund before it enters

If you are worried about that, before you even boot the device, do the following:
Spoiler:
Press the power button
Immediately after you press it, hold down the command key AND the letter S key
Let it do its thing
If you get a lock, then the BIOS is locked.
Once you get something that looks like this at the bottom: :/ root#
Type the following(hit enter for each line break):
mount -uw /
rm -rf /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
Shutdown -h now
It will shutdown, and once you reboot, DONT WORRY, when it acts like it is new, and it is taking you through the admin account setup, nothing was removed, the machine was just tricked into thinking that its new out of the store. When setting up the account, DO NOT allow location, nor connection to wifi. Once you have the account created, go into "System Preferences" > "Users & Groups" > Click the lock button at bottom:![[Image: ViOiGvq5TY6ewiTNjgFnlA.png]](https://image.prntscr.com/image/ViOiGvq5TY6ewiTNjgFnlA.png)
> Enter the password for the account you just created > Delete all other accounts.
If you want to see if there is any files in the old account(s) just go to finder and look through the files in "/Users/"
DO NOT connect to wifi until you restart the computer just incase the old users plists are still loaded.
Now, if you are still worried about them tracking you once you connect to wifi, just take a drive down to a starbucks or mcdonalds thats a bit away from your house, and connect there, get a VPN from the app store I suggest AHAVPN and just make sure to use it while at home. OR, just live boot from Debian/Ubuntu, and never boot into OSX.

In terms of your residential address disclosed without GPS enabled, an "estimate" of your location can be done (sometimes as close as a couple of miles) with a JavaScript code embedded In a webpage that you're viewing (running In the background without requesting your permission). This Is browser-based that targets the end user's device, In your case, the IMac.
There are a lot of methods to get your location (example, Cross-browser fingerprinting on an OS & Hardware level, Ultrasonic Cross-Device Tracking etc) and for me to document each and every one and elaborate, Is beyond the scope of this post. I'll be here all day. If I can do It (which I can), so can others who have the knowledge, but we're talking about going to extreme levels here.
As said, they have no reason to suspect or monitor your activity, so you're good to go.
