I'm curious to know who has put in the time and work to take baseline CPUs and push them to the limits. Let's see a couple specs from your build! If you can provide all of the customizations you've done that would be even better! Here's mine:

Hardware

Memory: Hyper-X Fury 1866mhz dual channel 10-11-10-33-42 modules in 4x8 (32gb)
Cooler: Arctic Freezer 360 (394mm liquid cooler with 6 120mm fans)
Motherboard: MSI 970A Pro Carbon

Modifications needed to achieve 5.1GHz and upgraded memory timings:

Multiplier: 25.5
CPU Northbridge Frequency: 2400MHz (multiplier maximum, 12)
HyperTransport Link frequency: 2600MHz (multiplier 13)

CPU Voltage: 1.600v
CPU Northbridge voltage: 1.352v
Northbridge Voltage: 1.14v
DRAM Voltage: 1.68v

DRAM stuff:
CL: 8T (from 10T)
tRCD: 10T (from 11T)
tRP: 9T (from 10T)
tRAS: 26T (from 33T)
tRC: 36T (from 42T)

I did mine up nice... but I dont have 8 cores or 5 Ghz.. thats pretty impressive if I may say so myself, @ 40* temp too... nice.

I went with a custom build:
Asus Maximus VIII Ranger z170 chipset 1151 socket Mobo
Intel Core i5-6600K 6M Skylake Quad-Core 3.5 GHz running at 4.2 Ghz Idle @20*c under max load @40*c-50*c
Dominator Platinum DDR4 3 Ghz @ 16 Gig 2x8 kit
SSD 250 Gig PNY
Nvidia GTX 960 ftw 4 gig edition
EVGA G2 850 PSU
ASUS dvd
Cooler Master Hyper 212 eVo
Cheap case but looks great!
And I still like some of those win 7 gadgets so I use win 7 still. kinda afraid to get win 10 ... I read something about skylake and win 10 though. I assume sooner or later I will conform.

What are the specs?

° 1.1 Terabit hardrive
° Intel xenon processor e3 - 1200 v3
° Display adapters: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
° System Type: 64 bit windows 10 home os
° Built in blue tooth / WiFi (also have WiFi adapter)
° USB Ports: 7
° True 1080p display
° Processor: i5-4460 @ 3.20 GHz (shows 4 of them?)
° Intel 8 series / c220 chipset
° Several cooling fans internally

Before I sold my baby, not much invested in it at point of time the thread was posted but this is what I remember

Somewhat related: Apparently I can overclock my calculator. I'm gonna be trying that whenever I have time (needs hardware modification), if it counts...

I did want to overclock multiple times, though last time I got my pc "repaired" by a company they forgot to apply thermal paste etc... so now my CPU is idling at a temp of 70°C which is fkk ridiculous.

be careful with overclocking...stuff like that happens. If you do run into problems, never and I mean NEVER let somebody else touch your build.

That's excessive. You'd want to get that sorted out pretty soon.
