It doesn't matter to use it on vm if they steal your source codes

? These don't steal your code they make no connection to the internet and I don't know how you test for malware but my VM for testing never connects to the internet regardless.

Are you the cracker of the software? You can't know purpose of the cracker

Personally, depending on the nature of the test, I have (like yourself) an Isolated VM and another VM bridged to the WNIC/NIC).

The latter Is for the purpose of Identifying the author/source of the outgoing connection(s) of the malware Itself. The Host system on which my VMs run (In this setup) Is a dedicated PC segregated from my network. There's no right or wrong- It depends on one's usability and objective.

That aside, appreciate your contribution.

I'm not the cracker of this software, but I have checked them thoroughly and I have not seen anything potentially dangerous, nothing to suggest a backdoor or anything like that
