Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington died by hanging, the Los Angeles County coroner has confirmed.
The 41-year-old was found by an employee on Thursday in the bedroom of his house and while a note has not been found, the death is being treated as a suspected suicide. An autopsy is pending.
The singer had been close friends with singer Chris Cornell, who killed himself earlier this year; Thursday would have marked his 53rd birthday. Bennington performed at his funeral and honored him via a post on social media after his death, saying that he “can’t imagine a world” without him in it. Cornell’s widow, Vicky Cornell, tweeted yesterday: “Just when I thought my heart couldn’t break any more.....I love you.”See the full article Here

Bennington and Cornell's deaths are really surreal to me. Linkin Park was a band I grew up with and idolized when I was little, and I guess the band that really inspired my current taste.

I don't mind their music, but Irrespective of that, It's tragic.

The singer suffered abuse and had drug problems, so it shouldn't really come as a surprise. I aged out of listening to their music, but it's still a really big shame.

I guess in the end, it didn't really matter.
Honestly I never really cared for Linkin Park, but anyone committing suicide is horrible. My thoughts go out to all of the family / fans of him.

He really was great, and not that I have listened to LP in a while, it certainly is broken without him. I do know he had some issues with abuse so on one hand, glad it didn't grow to become harmful to anyone else, but sad that it took taking his own life to deal with it.
Not to mention his children, tragic for them I'm sure.
