Game Server? - Oni - 07-16-2017
I was considering buying a couple of game servers for us, but wanted to check what games people are interested in most.
I have experience running servers for the following games, but can also do others:
- Counter Strike (Source/GO)
- Garry's Mod
- 7 Days to Die
- Conan Exiles
- Terraria
- Starbound

Sounds interesting, I have ran Runescape and World of Warcraft private servers, so I know that without any interest running isn't worth the effort.

I would have mentioned Runescape or WoW, but I play both legitimately. Because I'm clan leader for the largest Runescape clan, it would be seen as distasteful.

I started my server back when they got rid of PKing on RS, ran it for a couple years before I got bored of whiney brats and just made a god ring and killed everyone until they left. My WoW server was vanilla WoW and I had around 20 people at the peak but it slowly died off. I have both legitimately and have put a shit ton of time and money into both as well.

Out of that list I own CS (Source and GO), GMod, Terraria, and Starbound - I have an interest in 7 Days to Die and Conan Exiles but I kinda skipped out on the Steam sale so I didn't get either of them.
If a server were to be made for really any of those titles, I'd be happy to mess around now and then as I'd be up to purchase 7DtD or Conan and already own the rest.

My preferences would be 7 Days to Die/Conan Exiles/Terraria. I hope we do see some interest. No point starting one without it. I'd also love to game with some SL members - it's been a while.
My only concern is the Early Access parts of Conan. Obsessed with the game, but it's official release isn't due for another month yet. Still, we could set up a lot with it.

Rust is pretty popular right now.
I feel like Garry's Mod is kinda dying in popularity.
But if this would be a community server, Garry's Mod servers are usually fun.

I wonder if it's easier to figure out what everyone plays, then entice them to a server. We could do a "do you own/play this" list. It would also help SL members find out if other members play the same games. It'd be a bit of effort to put together and update, though.
