Command Line Editing - Linux Guide - Cyber Warrior - 06-10-2017


It's been a while since I made any video. In this tutorial you will learn a few tricks to ease up your work by not lifting your hands from keyboard and never touching your mouse while working on the command line. You are going to learn shortcut commands for:
-Cursor movement
-Text editing
-Cut and paste

Nice tutorial Biggrin something you should note is that while these shortcuts are widely supported, they're not part of any standard Linux specification (afaik), so they're not entirely universal; it depends on what shell (e.g. BASH, sh, zsh) and terminal (e.g. xterm, tty, serial) you're using.

Yeah exactly, but on my youtube channel I'm focusing on BASH I mentioned that in some of my older videos. Thanks for recognizing that Wink

I've never been a fan of the GUI, hence love using the CLI.

Although Linux Isn't my platform, I still know enough just to see me through.

You're welcome buddy. I know, I'm also more attracted to CLI, I guess that's because there is something special about it, you got the feeling of direct communication with your computer plus it can save you time if you know how to properly use it.

Another very nice tutorial my friend, like I said multiple times, always like your tutorials. Keep it up with those. I had to study those commands and stuff a while back and have to study it again now... This might help me with studying even! Thank you mate!

When I work with MySQL, I always use the CLI. Some prefer MySQL Workbench but that's not for me.
