First SE - Amazon Laptop - rakoom2002 - 04-16-2017

About to try my first refund on amazon for a computer thats about 475. As long as I keep it under 500 it doesn't need approval from a supervisor right? My account is 10 years old and ive had several returns but they've all been for legit reason and sent the item back. Have any of you had them not refund you on the first one.?

Awesome, thank you. The only thing I was really worried about is them saying they cant do it for some reason because I couldnt afford to get the laptop if i had to pay for it in the long run but I guess for some reason on the off chance they did this I could always just wait a few days and message them on live chat and say I asked another neighbor and they grabbed it for me so it didnt get stolen, so its on file and then return it.

There's so many possibilities as to why a given SE fails. It's premature to jump to conclusions without performing the SE.

In your case here, SE'ing Is all about getting the person on the other end on your side, by formulating, preparing and manifesting a scenario that depicts your objective. Confidence, assuming an authoritative figure and taking "control" of the situation all play a significant role In a successful outcome. So too does careful research and planning.

Remember, you're more so exploiting the vulnerability of the "person/employee", rather than a flaw/loophole In their TOS.

Very well put, thank you, i'll make sure to keep that in mind when talking to them.

You're most welcome.

Prior to the SE, It's good practice to formulate and prepare your strategy. Make a few bogus (practice) calls to see how they answer and treat your Inquiry, Identify the questions raised and how they expect to be answered. This will help when the time comes with the real social engineering.

Good luck bro, you shouldn't have problems!

Thanks everyone, will be trying this week.

I think everything will be fine since you have had the account for 10 years, and have had other successful returns. Its a bit like credit I guess I could say, you have done good in the past, and returned their shit, so they will more than likely do whatever you are trying to achieve!
