Fidel Castro, Cuba's former president and leader of the Communist revolution, has died aged 90, his brother Raul has announced.
"The commander in chief of the Cuban revolution died at 22:29 hours this evening," President Raul Castro said.
Fidel Castro ruled Cuba as a one-party state for almost 50 years before Raul took over in 2008.Pretty sure the Cubans in my family are thrilled, as it was a running joke that he was still alive.

I've heard of him, but I don't know of him.
I'm not Into the political side of things, so I'm just wondering, what sort of a person was he- both personally and In the leadership role?

That's not the only tactic they used.
They tried several times to kill him with poison in a milkshake, and in his food. He dodged that.

Castro was a good man. Regarded by the cuban people as one of the few cuban revolutionaries to stand up to Batista's cruel regime and end America's imperialistic rule of the country. LONG LIVE THE KING!

I wonder what the future of Cuba will be like now that Castro is dead. My (outspoken)marxist chinese friend is talking about how Cuba is going to become more capitalist now that Castro is out of the picture.
Will be interesting to see the direction the country goes in.

He lived a pretty long life.
