Got The New Five Pound Note Today - 4tune - 09-26-2016 Spoiler: First time seeing one and holding one too. I love it! I love that they are now harder to counterfeit, I love how stronger they are now, and I absolutely love the feel of them. I'm already looking forward to the new ten pound note and twenty pound note being released in a few years. Anyone else from England who has obtained one yet? RE: Got The New Five Pound Note Today - Jiggly - 09-27-2016 Typical British, we made our notes fancy. I remember watching Mock the Week where they got a bunch and one of the comedians decided to tear it to see if he could. They aren't indestructible but they don't rip as easily. Unfortunately, I'm out of the country, so won't be seeing the new notes any time soon.
