Do Gaming Companies Listen? - 4tune - 08-07-2016 Do you think that gaming companies really listen to their players' feedback? I think that sometimes they do. They kind of have to at times. If most of their players are unhappy, then they're not going to stick around and keep playing. In general, though, they can't listen to every single bit of feedback or the games would be drastically different constantly. RE: Do Gaming Companies Listen? - Wildfire - 08-07-2016 If the game has a large enough revenue stream in itself, then I would say the companies tend to not care about the players' opinions as much. RE: Do Gaming Companies Listen? - insidious - 08-11-2016 Gaming companies are just like any other company out there in the world. Smaller, 'indie' developers tend to listen to player feedback more than the monolithic companies because they have more at stake, so it is in their best interest to create a game which will appeal most to an audience with the greatest chance of that audience giving them sweet moniez $$ The larger a company grows, the less feedback they have to listen to. Some large companies obviously will listen to feedback, but some won't. Blizzard is a great example of this. If Blizzard is releasing a new game, they usually listen to feedback and change the game accordingly. But as time goes on, they stop giving a shit, because they have already established a loyal playerbase. Blizzard knows they can leach money from that playerbase. evident with StarCraft, WoW etc.. Just like comcast knows they don't have to give a shit about their customers because they already have a monopoly on a certain area. A lot of creators have the ability to implement games via workshop on TF2, so they've basically made us make the shit then sold it to us. RE: Do Gaming Companies Listen? - BxxxxxD~~ - 08-13-2016 shit, looks like everyone else already said what I was going to. If a company can get damaged really badly by their player base, they will probably listen. However, any major gaming series (cod, battlefield, any yearly sports game, ect) really dosen't care because they know people are gonna buy their games reguadless. RE: Do Gaming Companies Listen? - Nyx - 08-13-2016 Rule of thumb for me is if they have an active Twitter that isn't bot responses or they stream their games on Twitch, they probably listen to feedback. Doesn't always work, most of the time the rule stays true though. RE: Do Gaming Companies Listen? - Despised - 08-13-2016 They do, if the voice is loud enough they may even make changes accordingly. Sometimes companies truly don't care, if the money is flowing they will happily ignore you.
