Villains? - Jiggly - 06-30-2016

Villains come in many shapes or forms. I wanted to look at two versions: Those that are totally evil and are designed for the audience to truly hate them, then there's the type that you feel sympathy for.

Below a prime example of the first: Creepy old man hitting on young teen. Gross.

Here's one to feel bad for - She literally gets all her limbs ripped off after a life of being tortured in a lab.

Sometimes the lines are blurred when villains make you feel sorry for them and they later befriend the good guys and "turn good" or neutral.

Which type do you prefer more? Examples from your favourite shows are welcome.

The best shows make you either abhor the villain and/or empathize with them. Cowboy Bebop has some pretty great villains.

Spoiler:Many comics have excellent villains, with ridiculous amounts of lore behind them. Many people like Joker, etc... Flat characters aren't as great.

I really don't know how to contribute to this thread of fictional characters. I suppose you're right in your descriptions and analysis.

She's a crazy villain. I hate her but damn is she attractive and so fuckin' evil. Never felt any sympathy for her, think she totally deserved what came for her

There are so many great villains in Akame Ga Kill. I think my favorite would be Esdeath.

Though there's a very large variety. By the end of AGK I felt pretty bad for Esdeath since I kinda liked her.

Then there's that villain that fed that young girl to dogs to be raped (in the manga at least), that villain was so fucked.
