SE'ing Intel - zorrophreak - 06-05-2016 Intro Being such a large company, Intel doesn't have much time to deal with one CPU having an issue. It is because of this that with very little information they will send out a replacement and often times, not even request you to send the dysfunctional CPU back. Getting Contact So of course, go ahead and contact Intel, I'd recommend calling them, skip verification, and it shows that there was a real person before the e-mails start flying back and forth. This step is easy, Tell them the processor you have then tell them it's stopped working. Say something like you have tried it in another system of the same design and it did not work. also you tried another of the same type CPU with your PC and it worked fine. More than likely they will ask for your email and just say they'll send you the next steps. The email is: Spoiler:Thank you for contacting IntelĀ® Technical Support. As previously discussed, we need a full system configuration in order to identify the root cause of the issue correctly and being able to provide an adequate solution. All part numbers need ed should be read directly from the component itself and not from within software which very often only show the specs of the product but not the relevant information we need. Please provide all system components. In case a component is onboard, please state accordingly. It will then have a list of information. Fill it out and send the reply. Several emails will be sent back and forth trying to figure out about the other CPU and if you've overclocked the processor (if its an unlocked processor). Eventually they will ask for shipment information and voila! You have a shiny new Intel CPU. PoP For providing proof of purchase, you can go half-legitimate and actually buy the CPU or use a PoP from when you did, or you can do the easy way and just generate an Amazon, TD, Newegg, etc... receipt and send them that, trust me, it works. Just a Note... Its my first tutorial, I'm sure many of you can do this yourself, but its kind of a intermediate guide. I wrote it several years back and found it on an old hard drive along with many others and decided to post it. Hope you get some use and enjoy. RE: SE'ing Intel - zorrophreak - 06-07-2016 Really? Well I had no clue let me just delete this postNOT RE: SE'ing Intel - Blacksmith - 06-07-2016 (06-06-2016, 01:34 PM)morne Wrote: and if ur caught of fraud gg pirson (06-06-2016, 04:46 PM)mug3n Wrote: Thnx for the info Buzz Killington I've actually always wondered if you could get arrested for this kind of thing. I imagine you'd be fine with, like, a pizza or something, but bigger things like this always felt risky to me. Still, cool share for those who are into this. Ever tried it yourself, Zorro? I tried it a while ago, and I got successful, but that was a year or few back. I'll try it again in a few days and report back here how it goes. I imagine Intel might be a little less willing to send a CPU out then before. (Also don't go to jail I hear it's unpleasant.) RE: SE'ing Intel - zorrophreak - 06-07-2016 (06-07-2016, 10:49 PM)Blacksmith Wrote: Neato', report back if you go for it. And yea I have to, quite frankly don't wanna be Bubba's cell mate RE: SE'ing Intel - Navroza - 06-09-2016 Thanks Will try this asap.
