Win7 Login PW Forgotten - Endgame - 05-14-2016
To keep this short & to the point, my mom's friend can't remember her login to her Win7 login to her account. I've looked up tutorials on bypassing it or changing the pw with an elevated cmd.

That's one tutorial I've been checking out. Idk if it's trustworthy, but I gotta try it.
This next part is method 2 I found.
1. Start or restart pc.
2. F8 - Enter 'Advanced Boot Options' before loading screen.
3. Choose 'Safe Mode with CMD'
4. Wait til login screen comes up
5. Login Windows with admin account until see login screen.
6. CMD appears. Type 'net user' in CMD. All accounts are listed.
7. Type 'net user "admin name" "password" & hit enter.
"admin name" = user to pw reset. "password" = New pw.
Unless anyone here knows a good fullproof way?
I'd like to not have to make a password recovery tool if possible.
I know through admin cmd there's a few possible ways.

Why not use Hirens BootCD to change password it is easier and faster!

Trinity Rescue Disc can do it, so can Konboot.

Microsoft DaRT (Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset) will reset any local user account password.
If you still require assistance, let me know and I shall PM you the link to my website. My site contains all PC tech tools (almost every version of DaRT) that are normally not available as a free download from other sources. I've collected all tools, converted them to bootable ISO Image files and of course, all free. Tutorials are also available on the site, hence you can't go wrong.

This is a very common problem with a super easy solution.
1) Do a clean install of Windows 10 and join the master race
2) Login with your microsoft account
3) forget password
4) log on mobile and recover microsoft account password
5) log in to your PC and never worry about loosing important documents ever again

Just make sure you keep the Recovery options up-to-date on the Microsoft account (cell phone number and/or alternate email address), or you may be locked out of that as well. The only alternative will be the Recovery Questionnaire, whereby If you cannot provide sufficient credentials to verify ownership, you're out of luck.
Sound advice though.
