Secret PIN For Users - Migo - 05-06-2016

Just thought of an awesome security feature for members. Obviously not priority because Onion is working on so much other shit, but it's just a thought.

What if a PIN code was required to change your user password, email, or even to log into your account (optionally) similarly to how you can have an adminCP PIN to access to panel.

Just a thought. Go~ Give me them opinions.

So like you need to fill in your password as well as the PIN?

I think Omni has denied this idea before but idk.
I think it sounds good. Except it should be a different passphrase different from the password

Alternatively 2FA Gauth Auth.

@Oni

Yeah but it would be an optional feature for everyone. You could setup a 4 - 6 letter PIN and remove it with a single click. Totally optional and lightweight.

@Oni

Yeah I think it would be worthwhile.

I can't believe you just said Omni. A little early still Pirate? :p

Yeah I think it would be worthwhile.

I don't agree with the pin though, we have too many alcoholics and they'd forget their PIN.

Gauthy is as simple as checking your PC or phone.

I said Omni intentionally

As long as it is optional, I am fine with it.

PIN codes are really good, and lot's of us with credit cards already have a PIN number and that would make it even easier to remember.

Plus, with it being an optional feature nobody would be forced to use it. There can't really be too many negatives to it. Makes it much harder to get your account rekt.

Valid points.

I still would prefer 2FA.
