Poetry Thread - Silence - 03-18-2016 Okay, so I did this on another site. I'll be posting poetry I write on here. ![]() I'm always open for constructive criticism, so tell me what you think about them! Feel free for others who like to write poetry to continue this thread with their own works. The Broken King, © Silence 2015 Spoiler:
Let the bloodied crown hit the floor We all know you can do no more. Salted red tears of a broken king who never once heard the angels sing. Sullied by darkness and stuck in time your life cut short like Fate's divine twine. So what shall you do young sir, better yourself or have your throne usurped? Pick up your pieces and cut out the past if you truly wish for your sanity to last. How could you lie and say you're alright when it's quite obvious you've grown used to plight. What kind of world mocks those with tears acting like their pain hasn't been present for years. How does your kingdom think of you boy, now that you've finally let down the ploy. Do you remember the old fairy tale your mother told you so your nightmares would quell? The one about the boy who lost it all, thought his towers so soon to fall. Only to look forward and see past the haze pick up his ashes like a phoenix when ablaze. Never thinking the world couldn't be shown light, despite how many gave up their fight. How in his darkest hours he found his calling and set out to fulfill it, never once stalling. So tell me Broken King, what shall you do? Find your light or let darkness encompass you? This choice is yours. Cure your own sickness or rip out your core. Shall you doom yourself and your people, the ones without you are ever so feeble. Young king, you are nothing but human. Remember that emotion, show others your acumen. You wish to fight you say? When will you start, a year a month or today? RE: Poetry Thread - Silence - 03-21-2016 Dreamland, © Silence 2016 Spoiler:
Shattered dreams born from Broken hearts. Madness circling like a Wolf at dark. Demons searching my Solemn mind. Finding things from a Mundane time. Memories inside a Crystal case. Running through time Like a one man race. What is righteous And what is wrong. What is just a Tempting song? Do you see the Flowing wind. How about the Long lost kin? You lost yourself to A darker you. Stuck in darkness like Quite a few. Battered tales and Forgotten psalms. The child’s cries that Never calmed. Seeking truth but Finding lies. Only seeing the Devil’s guise. Broken boy of Cold dry tears. You’ve been broken For so many years. How was hell and How was grace? Did you ever see Your mother’s face? Stuck in the past Of a darker time. The mountain of lies You try to climb. What’s thy name You feeble boy? Can’t you see your Satan’s toy? Lust and greed condemn Your soul. Forever forcing you to Miss your goal. A rusted crown On a forlorn head. Wondering where Man goes once dead. Drift off to the Land of sleep. Where you never Again will weep. Rest your eyes You tired soul. You’ve finally paid The hefty toll. Escape your mind and Cleanse your heart. Fasten your hatred to the wall At dark. Follow down the path Of honey suckles. See the old you’s Knees to buckle. You are born anew Like a Phoenix when seared. The demons that haunted you Now run in fear. A Jester once but Now a King. Awakens with the Bell that rings. The dreamland has Now collapsed. Let’s see how the Man reacts, badly perhaps? No one knows for He built a wall. Far taller than any And all. What is a dream And what is real? The answer is simple In which do you feel? Where is the pain that Once toyed with your mind. Abandoned in the world I made for your true self to find. Now here’s the funny Part young king. I am an older you, Yet with wings. I’m from a time where We gave up. But was given these Wings and a golden cup. I was told to find The forlorn boy. Show him he’s Not merely another toy. I am your angel, Yet I am you. We are many, Yet you are few. |
