What should I do with my old laptop - Arc_mybb_import14572 - 02-23-2015

So I have this laptop that i'm not using anymore because its so fucking slow and wonder what I could possibly do with it.

Processor: Intel Core i5 2410M CPU@ 2.30GHz
RAM: 4.00 Go
64 bit
Running windows 7

I'm thinking of installing a lite version of linux but don't really use it anymore anyways
Please help me think of a way of using it !

(been thinking of using it as a game emulator or a second screen also but need more ideas)

Go ahead !

Well usually you can't input video to a laptop screen, only output video. Anyway, if it were me I would use it as a Plex media server. I have Netflix, but a lot of shows and movies don't make it on there, or make it on months after they are released elsewhere. Because of this, I use my old PC as a Plex server. Plex is pretty cool because it is basically Netflix that you can upload your own content to. I usually download a show from some torrent site, and then throw it on my Plex server so I can watch it conveniently from anywhere, instead of waiting a few months for it to show up on Netflix. For example, you can upload a season of a show and Plex will get metadata and cover art automatically for that show, and organize the whole thing in a nice web portal that you can access from anywhere (not to mention they have an app for most devices). It's pretty awesome in my opinion, and I would definitely recommend that you check it out here.

Thats a really nice idea, I'm happy about netflix to watch what I need but maybe I should get into that.
Thanks for the idea might do it !

(if anyone else has another idea don't hesitate to post)
