Code Golfing Anyone? - Dijkstra - 08-06-2015
Would anyone here be interested in participating in a code golfing competition?
It'd be cool if the admin's could get on this and give out an award of some sort to the winners. Make it official.

Golfing? like golf or what?

Yeah could you elaborate on this

Code golfing is a competition where programmers compete to answer a question but with the least amount of characters possible.
An example would be, check if a word is the palindrome of another. You could then do something like
if x == y[::-1]: print('yes')
But you could reduce this to
print(x == y[::-1])
Clearly the second line has won.

Well the point of golfing is to get the least amount of hits for the ball to get in a hole. Right? :p

Oh, Ain't got time for this, I'm busy smashing my head on the keyboard trying to figure out why my admin panel stopped working

Why not? It's something fun to do on the side of everything. The competition would have a submit date/time and you would have a lot of time before you would have to submit.

I'd participate in this
(if in Java)

You'd compete with people in the same language.

Seems like a pretty cool game idea!

I'm assuming you would like to participate then?
