My First Impressions on Windows 10 - SilentThief - 07-30-2015

Many of you may be thinking of getting Windows 10 or have already gotten it. Well today, I want to tell you about the first impressions I got from Windows 10.

To start out with, the installation itself was nice to look at. It took about an hour to install Windows 10, which isn't bad for an entire new operating system. When it was finalizing I couldn't take my eyes off of the screen because of how amazing it looked, and how excited I was to put the essentially next generation operating system on my computer, after having Windows 7 for over 3 or 4 years.

The new login page is phenomenal and really makes it look sleek and badass. When you log into Windows you notice that a few things have changed. The first thing that jumps out at you is the toolbar. With it being light transparent black and having that search bad near the Windows icon, and having the Windows icon changed, it just made me immediately feel so amazed that I got this. Even when you go onto the start menu it has that feel of Windows 8, but in the way it should have been with the boxes. So as in other words, amazing.

They completely redesigned the basic Windows window look, by increasing the size of the minimize, maximize, and "X" buttons, as well as making the "X" button only glow red upon hover. This made it feel new and sleek in my opinion.

Now, here is the best news. Internet Explorer is GONE! Yes, it is actually gone! However, it has been replaced by "Microsoft Edge". Now many may be fearful of this, but I actually enjoy it. It is fast, easy, reliable, and truly makes for a good internet experience. It now has the ability to use their voice recognition software "Cortana" much more easily and effective. It has options to place notes for webpages, and even draw on them so you can remember things on it. Great for note taking! The only bad thing about it is that many developers have stopped trying to develop Internet Explorer, so at the moment with it being a new browser, and also with people having low expectations for it, a lot of the features that normal browsers would have for webpages is now gone. For example, the scroll bars on this site are blue and black. However, it is the typical color with Microsoft Edge, but it still looks amazing.

I am now going into testing the features, but all in all, Windows 10 is shaping up to be extremely nice. I really love the new look, feel, and the new features. Hopefully they can only improve on this in the future.

My rating for Windows 10 at the moment is a nice 8/10!

I really don't want to upgrade to Windows 10. Because I saw how bad windows 8 is, i'd rather stick to my current windows 7.

Windows 10 isn't a disaster like Windows 8 was.
